The Thomas More Education Trust is an initiative of Thomas More College and works
in partnership with the College. The Trust is registered separately as a non profit (NPO)
and public benefit organisation (PBO) and runs independently of Thomas More College.
BBBEE (Broad Based Black Economic Empowerment)

Since the Trust is a registered PBO and, in addition, spends in excess of 75% of the net income on the upliftment of Black South African citizens, as set out by the BBBEE Code of Good Practice, funds donated to the Trust entitle donors to:

  • A tax deduction (in terms of Section 18A of the Income Tax Act)
  • BBBEE points in the Socio-Economic Develop-ment category. BBBEE points, in respect of Socio-Economic Development, vary between 5% and 25% depending on turnover and/or the trading sector of the particular business entity.
